Dominic & Cherry {Wedding} – The Boatshed, Wellington

They got married in Taiwan on the first day of 2011. The paperwork was finalized just last week, which made them officially husband and wife. And last Saturday, with friends and families who couldn’t come to Taiwan on New Year’s day, they celebrated again. They celebrated their love for one another and their commitment to each other. Despite the grey and rainy weather, everyone’s spirit was high and couldn’t be dampened. It was a night filled with laughter, tears, food and more laughter.

Dominic and Cherry, congratulations once again! Thank you for allowing me to be your photographer that day. It was a pleasure making these photographs for you and I hope you love them as much as I do.

The day started at the Museum Hotel, where Cherry, her 3 sisters and their Mum were preparing. Dara and her team did a wonderful job with the girls’ hair and makeup.

Just before the guests started arriving, I had 2 minutes alone time with the couple for a few portraits!

Ruth Pretty Catering catered the delicious food and the beer, Conjug-ale, was specially made for this occasion, isn’t that cool?

The perfect and beautiful music was provided by Elios String Quartet.

Watch the slideshow below and enjoy looking at their photos with music.

Calvin & Pam {Engagement} – A Love Story

I didn’t think it would be possible for me to love what I do even more, but after Calvin and Pam’s engagement session, I can now say that I was wrong. Because right now, I am unconditionally and irrevocably in love with this. Capturing love. Being surrounded by love. And yes I’m quoting Twilight, please don’t hate me.

It was an afternoon to remember spent with an incredible couple. The weather was beautiful, the light even more gorgeous, but most of all I had the most amazing time getting to know them even better. It was an honour to be allowed to tell their love story through these photographs, and to be able to share this love with them, I am most grateful.

Marc, Diana & Zac – A year later..

You might remember this adorable little boy from this session. It was such a pleasant surprise when I received an email from Diana a few weeks ago. It has become a tradition for them to have their pictures taken every year on Zac’s birthday. And what an honor for me to have been given the opportunity to take their photographs and witness their joy as a family again. I can’t even believe a year has already passed! Children do grow up so fast, sometimes as a parent, you wish you can freeze time so your kids can remain kids for a little while longer. One thing’s for sure though, this little man here is still as adorable and cute. I certainly wouldn’t mind being a part of his birthday again. 🙂

Mads and Claire {Wedding} – Paekakariki Beach

Mads and Claire were an absolute dream to photograph. It’s really not hard to fall in love with them because they’re one of the nicest and sweetest couple we’ve ever met. Mads is so charming and sweet and Claire is so effortless and exudes elegance. The love and joy they share is so evident in the way they hold each other. There is no doubt they belong together.

Under a perfect blue sky on a perfect Autumn afternoon, surrounded by their family and friends at Paekakariki Beach, Mads and Claire said their ido’s. The details, the poems, the sunset — if I were to sum up this wedding in just one word, it would be, Breathtaking.

Mads and Claire, thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing us to be your photographers. I still can’t get over how beautiful and perfect your wedding was and I’m truly grateful for the trust you gave us and for letting us document this very special day.

Rebecca did an amazing job with the hair and makeup. Claire looked absolutely flawless and stunning!

Warning: Major gorgeousness ahead! Join me in falling in love with this lovely couple! I am seriously running out of adjectives to describe these two!

Don’t they look like they belong in an old Hollywood film?

Paekakariki Surf Club was so lovely and perfect for their intimate wedding.

For more photos, view their slideshow below. I used a different kind of song  for this slideshow, but I think it best represents the feel of their wedding day. Enjoy!

Our life in Instagram

How cool is Instagram? I love it. It’s honestly the coolest app ever. It’s also the only thing I’ve been using to share our photos with everyone. It’s been a hectic couple of weeks because my parents are here on holiday and we’ve been showing them how beautiful New Zealand is.
So, this is me, trying to share a little bit of our life with you, and if you’re also on Instagram, follow me.. my username is: candycapco.
