Lifestyle Portraits: Katherine

Meet Katherine. My younger sister and one of my best friends.
These portraits were taken on her birthday last week, about an hour before sunset.

After our mini portraits session, we went to Cafe Central Wien for a nice cake and Aperol gespritzt!

Stadt Wien – Wien ist anders

Last week, we arrived in the beautiful city of Vienna. The city welcomed us with hot weather.. coming from the wintry weather of Wellington, who’s complaining? It’s been a week of catching up with family and friends and taking everything in. I have managed to take out my camera once and take a few photos around the world famous 1st district of Vienna, but I promise to take more photos of the city and post them here.

For those of you who would like to book me for a portrait session, feel free to email me at info{at}candycapco.com or call/text me at +436763842855, we’re here until the last week of October.

For now, here’s a few photos from my first week back..

Tarureka Estate Wedding: David & Rachel

David & Rachel’s wedding was nothing short of beautiful. From Rachel’s gorgeous wedding dress to the perfectly fitting owl stationery. Everything looked like it belonged to a magazine spread. Rachel looked stunning and you wouldn’t even know she did her own makeup if you didn’t see her do it herself.

It was the third wedding we covered at Tarureka Estate and everytime we’re there, I just find more reasons to fall in love with the place even more. It was the perfect venue for David & Rachel’s country themed wedding.. and even though it was pouring heavily after their ceremony, the dark clouds magically disappeared and gave us some amazing light just in time for their photos.

David and Rachel, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for inviting us to cover your wedding. It was such a gorgeous and fun event and we feel very lucky to have witnessed it all.

Rachel looked perfect in her wedding dress, and the light in the room where she was preparing was amazing! Just look at these portraits of hers.. gorgeous right?

The bridesmaids’ dresses were the perfect shade of pink and they were made out of the lightest and softest fabric. Love it!

Heartfelt and funny speeches are always my highlight during the reception.. and the messages from friends who couldn’t come to David & Rachel’s wedding were really unforgettable!

Wellington Engagement Session: Glenn & Susan

Their wedding will be the first one we will cover when we get back from Vienna in October. I have to say, after spending a few hours with them 2 weeks ago, I am very excited and can’t wait for them to say their I do’s. I know it will be a beautiful celebration. Glenn & Susan are just too cute for words. They are completely head over heels in love and they can’t take their eyes off each other! Glenn can make Susan laugh without even trying, it’s the sweetest thing! Watching them together definitely makes me smile.

Wellington Engagement: Jonny & Lauren

They got engaged a year ago and will be saying their I do’s this December. When I met them a couple of months ago they told me how much they both love Autumn, so for their first year anniversary as an engaged couple we spent the afternoon capturing their joy and making more memories. The beautiful orange and yellow leaves provided the perfect backdrop for this lovely session.

I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time I was taking photographs of them, Jonny and Lauren are just too adorable together. They are so sweet and easy going and it was so fun being around them.  Sessions like theirs definitely make me even more grateful for what I do.
