Coromandel Wedding: Ian & Toni

I covered this wedding 2 weeks ago in the Coromandel Peninsula, and it would be an understatement to say that we were excited to drive back to that amazing place.
We have been looking forward to this wedding since Toni and Ian decided they wanted me to photograph their wedding.
That place is just beautiful beyond words and Toni and Ian’s laid back wedding made it all the more special.

Toni and Ian, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wonderful day. I had such a great time photographing you two, because you  just make such a gorgeous couple! Congratulations and much love!

We started the day at Toni’s grandma’s house in Thames, where Toni and her bridesmaids put on their lovely dresses.
Toni’s gorgeous lace dress was made by her Aunt! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

One of my favorite parts of a wedding is shooting the bride’s portraits. Toni is such a beautiful bride.

After their morning ceremony, lunch was served inside the church, where Toni and Ian also cut their first cake before everyone left for the reception at Te Kouma Harbour Farmstay.

After lunch we made a quick stop at the Yacht Club before heading to the reception venue.

Then off we drove to the picturesque Te Kouma Harbour Farmstay, where I took their portraits while waiting for the guests to arrive.

It was so much fun photographing this bridal party!

Thankful Monday – A year older

I turned a year older on Saturday, and I think that alone is enough reason to be grateful.
It was a quiet celebration with our friends and the sunshine made the day even more beautiful.

This coming month will be our busiest month yet since we started with our photography business and I can’t reiterate enough how thankful I am for the trust our clients have been giving us.

And because the sun decided to hide behind the clouds again today and also because blog posts are always nicer with a picture.. here’s a photo from the Coromandel Peninsula. We can’t wait to be back there again next week!

Wellington Engagement Session: Damon & Jessica + Joel

Bright smiles + sunshine + a happy couple + the most adorable little boy = fun-filled-engagement/family session.

I had a great time doing this session because Damon and Jessica made it easy for me to capture how they are as a couple. They were relaxed and so comfortable with each other. A photographer really couldn’t have asked for more. And when I met Damon’s son, Joel, I just knew how much fun I was going to have photographing him because he simply LOVES the camera and the camera just adores him.

We started the afternoon at this park, where Joel pretended he was a warrior while Damon and Jessica watched him as he showed me and my camera his moves!

Then we drove to the beach, where we were given more gorgeous golden sunlight.

On this photo, you can see Damon’s first and second attempts on making Jessica’s ring, then finally the ring and the coin, that it’s made out of.

St. Andrews / Queens Wharf Ballroom, Wellington Wedding – Glenn & Susan

Glenn and Susan met online and on the day they decided to meet personally, there was a Tsunami warning and people were advised to stay away from the beach. But even that couldn’t stop them. And since then they’ve been inseparable.

I shot their engagement session  a week before I left for Vienna and their wedding was the first we covered just a few days after getting back in Wellington. It was a day filled with amazing personal touches. Susan made all the button bouquets, centerpieces & boutonnieres. She even sewed her own faux fur stole  and made a beautiful button brooch to go with it! The guests were in awe of how perfectly executed their wedding day was. Susan’s crafty talents definitely made the day extra memorable and special.

Glenn & Susan, I hope you are having a lovely time at your honeymoon, FAR away from this famous windy and stormy Wellington weather!  Thank you SO much for the kindness you’ve shown us and for letting us be a part of this very beautiful day. Much love.

I just love it when brides wear coloured-shoes and Susan chose the most perfect pair to go with her dress!

Before going to the church, we made a short stop to visit Susan’s Grandma, who was unable to go to their wedding.
Props never fail to make bridal party shots extra fun!
I love the Queens Wharf Ballroom. The chandeliers, the view, the wooden floors. It was the perfect reception venue for Glenn & Susan’s wedding.
And just before I went home, I snuck out with the couple and took a few shots under the Wellington night sky.

Vienna Lifestyle Portrait Session: Nomar & Caroline

They say there’s nothing better than love based on friendship. It’s almost fail-proof.
Nomar and Caroline are the perfect example of that because they were the best of friends before they became a couple.

I shot this lifestyle session in Vienna just 2 weeks before we left for Wellington. It’s been crazy busy ever since, but good things are definitely worth waiting for, because these photos are just gorgeous. The light, the location, the colors were amazing, but what made this session extra special was definitely the couple.
Nomar & Caroline, you two are absolutely beautiful people and thank you for spending a perfect afternoon with me.

This song couldn’t have been more suitable for these two. For more gorgeousness, please watch the slideshow below.
