Vienna Maternity Session – Lovelia

She’s giving birth in about 3 weeks and we are so thrilled to have another baby in the family. Lovelia is my sister-in-law and she’s carrying her third baby with my brother and their first baby boy. I am sure he will be adorable and I can’t wait to meet him.

We went to Donau Park for this shoot. It was the hottest day I’ve experienced so far since I got here. 30 something degrees.. but these photos were taken during the golden hour. When the sun was just about to set. The light was amaaaaazingggg! It was orange and pink and yellow.. and Love definitely was glowing like the sun. Beautiful!

First day of Summer – Little girl in the big city

Today officially marks the first day of Summer and it didn’t disappoint. It was sunny and hot the whole day and I think it’s going to be even hotter tomorrow. But who’s complaining, right? Hot weather > cold weather anytime!

I took Izzy and my camera out for a date in the city today and they were both very happy.
Just look at the amazing chemistry between them, the camera definitely loves Izzy!

I think I can spend a whole afternoon roaming around the 1st district of Vienna, it’s just too gorgeous. I definitely wouldn’t mind getting lost here.

Vienna Lifestyle Portrait Session: Ulli & Julie

Julie is one of my longest and best friends. She’s like a sister to me. While we were in London together a few years ago, a lady even asked us if we were twins. True story. I guess that’s what happens when you’re always with someone, you tend to look alike. Or so they say anyway.

I met Ulli when I was here in Vienna 4 years ago. I was still here when they got engaged but sadly, I had to leave before they got married on December 22nd, 2007…exactly a year before I got married.. see, we even share the same wedding date and we didn’t even plan it. Before I came here I promised Julie I’d do a lifestyle portrait session with them.. so without further ado here are the photos from the afternoon I spent with one of my favorite couples..

Julie and Ulli, thank you for standing in front of my camera and letting me capture your happiness. I had an AMAZING time with you two.. like always.. and I’m so over the moon happy that you’ve found each other. I love you both!

Kitzbühel, Austria Wedding: Thomas & Marlene

Last week,  I had the honor of working with O’graphy and be part of their team. We drove to the little town of Kitzbühel and covered a lovely wedding. This was the first wedding that I covered here in Austria and it was also the first time I got to be a second shooter. It allowed me to see things differently and shoot from a new angle. It was also the longest coverage I’ve done. 16 hours. Yes, 16, but these photos will tell you that it was all worth it. It was a challenging and rewarding experience for me and I enjoyed every single minute of it.

Every detail from Thomas and Marlene’s wedding was perfect, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with this little town. I want to go back and stay a little longer.

It was cold and raining in the morning of their wedding, but when it was time to drive to the Church, there was nothing but blue skies and sunshine. Marlene was getting dolled up when we arrived at the hotel..

Marlene wore a beautiful Pronovias dress. Really beautiful.

Marlene is such a stunning bride!

Rupert Kapelle was the perfect chapel for their wedding. The altar and the ceiling are just breathtaking!

Guests enjoyed drinks and nibbles at the restaurant across the road from the church after the mass, before driving back to Tennerhof Hotel for dinner. There, the guests also released red heart balloons with the couple..

Then off we drove back to the hotel for Thomas and Marlene’s portraits.. the hotel’s courtyard was beautiful and provided us with awesome light.

I loved everything at their reception. The flowers, the setting, the music.. every single detail was well-thought-out and the result was truly amazing.

Thankful Thursday – The weather & getting featured

“When you say “yes” to othersmake sure you are not saying “no” to yourself.”

Paulo Coelho wrote that on his twitter last week and for some reason it just got stuck in my head. It’s such a simple phrase and yet it means a whole lot.. and this leads me to another installment of my thankful series..

I am super mega uber grateful for..

+ the not so hot weather today, we’ve been getting 29-32C weather.. and I know I shouldn’t complain but it was just really getting too hot! I’m sure everyone agrees with me!

+ My successful first wedding coverage here in Austria. It was a long fun day. The longest coverage I’ve done. Photos coming soon.

+ Having been given the opportunity to work with the guys from O’graphy. I will be posting their video here too once it’s up.

+ Getting featured on Love Me Do. Twice. I was so happy when Eva from Love Me Do emailed me a few weeks ago asking if she could feature David & Rachel’s wedding, then again if she could feature my work on her blog. Her blog is full of inspiration and getting featured was truly an honour.

+ For all our wonderful clients who wrote those beautiful reviews on Weddingwise. We’ve just become a VIP member, thank you so much. We truly appreciate it.

+ And lastly, for The Apartment, for also featuring Calvin and Pam’s engagement party photos on their website’s gallery. The email that they sent me a few weeks ago made me over the moon happy!

Happy Thursday!
