The Green Olive, Kapiti Wedding: John & Megan

Be warned, this post is loooong. This wedding is a swoonfest and I couldn’t decide which ones to post, so I ended up posting A TON!

I fell in love with this wedding for so many reasons, but first and foremost it was this couple who won my heart.
John and Megan are very sweet, kind and oh so fun to be around.
Their day was filled with laughter and happy tears. And with guests who came from everywhere, it’s obvious that these two are well loved.

They said their vows under the blue sky at a gorgeous olive grove, that’s owned by John’s parents, The Green Olive.
When we met them a few weeks before their wedding and Megan had told me that the theme was ‘ivory and lace’, I already knew this wedding was going to be epic.
And it was. Definitely a wedding after my own heart. Beautiful in every way.

We started the day at Megan’s parents’ house in Papakowhai, where Megan was getting dolled up.

Ahhh, those See by Chloe shoes and that dress. Need I say more?

Megan rode this gorgeous Cadillac limousine from Capital Cadillacs.

They  requested to go to Otaki beach for some of their photos because this is where John proposed.

 How gorgeous is she??

It was a bit hard to get these lanterns to fly, but when they finally set off, it was magical.

John and Megan, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for letting us be part of such a wonderful day.
We had an awesome time with you and your families and photographing your wedding was an honour.
Much love, Candy.

Life, oh life!

Life has been pretty crazy around here. My to-do list isn’t getting any shorter, in fact, I seem to add something to it everyday. Any wedding photographer (here down under) would probably tell you the same, but I’m not complaining. Not. One. Bit. I get to be part of people’s lives and I’m doing what I love. Life is good and I wouldn’t change anything.
These photos were taken with my iPhone. (don’t you just love that little fella?) Whenever I could, I do stop and try to ‘smell the roses’. And those books? Well, I’m looking forward to reading them, but for now I have an album layout to finish and photos to edit! Happy Wednesday!

Old St. Paul’s / Boatshed Wedding: Pete & Kristie

Pete and Kristie were married in the heart of the coolest little capital in the world just a few weeks ago.
The ceremony was held at Old St. Paul’s and their reception followed right after at the Boatshed.
Their wedding was nothing short of amazing, but that doesn’t really come as a surprise given that they are really just awesome.
No wonder that the people they surround themselves with are just as awesome too and we truly loved being around them.

We were also blessed with the most gorgeous weather and the fireworks from the Chinese New Year’s celebration at the end of the night
was simply the cherry on top of an already perfect day.

The day started at the Amora Hotel, where they had the most beautiful view of the Wellington harbour in both suites.
As always, Rebecca and her team did a great job with Kristie’s hair and makeup.

Pete and Kristie, thanks again for letting us be a part of such an incredible day.
You guys are simply amazing and we enjoyed every minute we spent with you. Much love.

Orui Homestead, Riversdale Wedding: Lance & Norma

It was cloudy and grey on Lance and Norma’s wedding day, but with personality as vibrant as theirs, it felt like it was sunny and bright the whole day.
With Norma’s smile alone, you can light up a whole town, so who really needs the sunshine?
And anyone who sees them can tell how much they adore each other. They really do make everyone’s heart melt!

The drive to Riversdale took over 2 hours and a couple of wrong turns, but this couple and the gem-of-a-location was definitely worth it.
Their families were an absolute joy to be around and capturing their emotions was just a delight.
The oh so picturesque Orui Homestead is located along the Wairarapa coastline and  was the perfect setting for this colourful wedding.

Hannah Wiles did an amazing job with Norma’s makeup.
And Norma built their wedding theme around her wedding dress, which was made by Sophie Voon.

What better way to cap off a great day with some photos in the ‘Amazing Travelling Photobooth’!

Norma and Lance, thank you for such a great day! You guys are really amazing and being there to capture your most cherished day was a pleasure!
Much love.

Wellington Engagement Session: Leon & Hayley

It all started with a spark!
We shot Leon & Hayley’s engagement session a few weeks ago and the 2 hours we spent with them was such a breeze!
They’re just so adorable together and fun to be around.
We were blessed with gorgeous golden light that afternoon and the location was perfect for their laid back personality too.
They’re getting married in 2 weeks and I for one can’t wait for their big day to come!
