Beginnings and Endings

This blog has served me well for two years, but now it’s time for a change.

I won’t be posting here anymore, but please go to my new {HOME}, as I will be posting my work there from now on.

Many thanks, Candy

Silverstream Retreat Wedding: Sam & Victoria

One of the perks of this job is meeting and getting to know amazing people.
I know it sounds like a cliche but it is true. There is nothing like spending a day or two with people who are in love.
Victoria and Sam are definitely one of those couples. They simply can’t take their eyes off of each other.

On St. Patty’s day, under the gorgeous Wellington sunshine in front of the people who are dear to them, Sam and Vic promised to be by each other’s side forever.

This beautiful field is located at the back of Silverstream Retreat. It was absolutely perfect and had the most gorgeous natural light. We didn’t need to go elsewhere for their portraits.
Victoria is the epitome of a glowing bride. Stunning!

Sam and Vic, thank you for being so lovely. Your wedding was a true reflection of ‘you’ and I’m glad I was there to capture all the details, the laughter and the happy tears.
Congratulations and much love.

Wellington Engagement Session: James & Emily

James and Emily moved to Wellington from Christchurch and this engagement session marks their first year in Wellington, and the countdown to one year before their wedding.
True to Wellington weather, it was windy that afternoon, but these two are amazing and didn’t even mind the cold at all. They even climbed a tree for me!
They’re planning a vintage wedding in the most romantic, Tarureka Estate and I simply can’t wait to capture their gorgeous day!

Tarureka Estate Wedding: Stewart & Aisling

On the first weekend of Autumn, we drove to the Wairarapa to cover Stewart and Aisling’s wedding.
The wedding was held at Tarureka Estate. Yes, that venue, which is just gorgeous and lovely from every angle.
The light was just delicious and the rain even added to the romantic feel of the whole celebration.
Stewart and Aisling said their vows in front of their closest friends and family, and the smile and laughter perfectly showed the happiness and love from everyone around them.

Tucked in behind an olive grove is this gorgeous cottage, ‘In the grove‘, where Aisling and her sisters were preparing.

Piki Therese designed this A-M-A-Z-I-N-G dress, which just looked perfect on Aisling!

Stewart and Aisling, thank you so much again for giving us the opportunity of being part of such a special day.
You two are the sweetest and we enjoyed every second we got to spend with you. Congratulations and much love.

Ohariu Farm Wedding: Brad & Hayley

Brad and Hayley got married on the Friday of the famous ‘weather bomb’ weekend.
The weather was described as ‘atrocious’ and ‘miserable’, but luckily, when they said their I do’s at Ohariu Farm that afternoon,
there was no strong wind nor rain.
Just grey clouds, which acted as natural diffuser, helping set the tone for this wedding and also providing balanced light.

This lovely day started with the boys. It was definitely fun watching them tie their ties!

Love, love working with Rebecca Connor. As always, Hayley’s hair and makeup were flawless!

This is one of my favourite moments of the day, when Hayley’s Dad saw her in her dress for the first time. It was priceless.

Just how fun is this bridal party? They even thought of doing a line-out for me!

Hayley adores horses, so naturally, for their portraits, there was a horse. She even rode it!

Brad and Hayley, you two are incredible! Thank you for letting us capture the fun and emotions of your special day.
Your day was nothing short of lovely and it was a pleasure to have been there. Much love, Candy
